Tennessee's Caitlin Whoriskey added another tournament title to her resume Monday, winning the singles championship at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Ohio Valley Regionals in Cincinnati.

Whoriskey, ranked 27th in the nation and seeded first in the tournament, beat second-seeded Jackie Wu of Vanderbilt 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7).

"Both Caitlin and Jackie gave it their all in this match," UT co-head coach Mike Patrick said. "Everyone could tell early on this was going to be a fight to the finish."

"I'm so proud of her," Patrick said. "She has worked so hard, not just this fall, but her whole time at UT, so to see her win this her senior year is a something special."

Men's Tennis: By Monday morning, there was no doubt that a Tennessee doubles team would win the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships in Bloomington, Ind.

After both teams won their semifinals matches, junior Boris Conkic and freshman Rhyne Williams defeated top-ranked senior Davey Sandgren and junior John-Patrick Smith, 8-6 for the championship.

It was Conkic's second doubles title of the season. He also won the ITA All-American title with Smith on Oct. 11.

"As a spectator today, it was interesting to watch because I knew this was going to be a competitive match," UT coach Sam Winterbotham said. "There were lots of bragging rights on the line. Rhyne and Boris did a great job."

The victories advance all UT players to the ITA National Indoor Championships, scheduled Nov. 5-8 on the campus of Yale University in West Haven, Conn.
